Get it here.
There are a few bug fixes and regressions fixed in this beta. There are also a few new (very minor) things included here. "More" tags for blogs will be automatically recognized and let through to the server, even if you have "Escape > and <" turned on. If you hold the Option key when connecting a touch device, you can choose to which document you'd like it to sync. I added a new debugging tool in the Help menu: a network log for seeing what is happening during blogging. There are also some improvements regarding touch device syncing: large syncs should do better now.
Please let me know of any problems, specifically regarding touch syncing. Please let me know if that got better or worse for you.

please support openmeta
otherwise this software is now useless to me..
I've had discussions about OpenMeta in the past and I don't know how OpenMeta would fit into MacJournal. Please email me and we can talk about it more. I'm not dismissing the idea, but I'd like to know more about how you use it. Thanks.
I would put that on my wish list for MacJournal too: if the tags I add to MacJournal entries were compatible w/ OpenMeta … that would be great . Just the tags alone in the (closed) MacJournal app are not useless but very limited for me too.
Hopefully the adoption of OpenMeta goes on, so that someday it could become a strong competitor for IPTC/XMP in a much wider area (all files, not only some image files).
Dan, if you need one more person to talk about OpenMeta, keywording, etc. just say a word and I’ll be there.
Yes, please send me an email. My understanding of OpenMeta is that it assigns new keywords to files in the file system that are searchable by Spotlight. In MacJournal, the "files" are entries stored in the data file, so there aren't discrete files out that I can add the OpenMeta information to. If there is another way to add information to OpenMeta, I'd be open to it. Also, the MJ tags are already searchable via Spotlight. So, if anyone has more information about this, please email me and we can discuss it. Thanks.
First, I love this application. It is so flexible and easy to use that I use it heavily, to capture many kinds of information.
However, I did discover a security problem: the password protection function does not function properly.
1. I created passwords for several journals.
2. When I went to open one, I received the prompt, entered the password, it opened. No problems.
3. One day, I was distracted while I was opening the application. When I clicked on the journal and was prompted for the password, I just clicked on "Unlock" without entering any password and it opened right up.
This works the same way for all of them.
4. Tonight before sending this, I tried another experiment: I entered a word that was absolutely not the password, clicked on "Unlock" and it opened.
Thanks for your efforts and obvious care. It's a terrific application, overall. I hope you can correct the password function.
Peace,
Alice
Thanks; I'm glad you like MacJournal.
What likely happened here is that the password is stored in your Keychain. This was an option when you set up the password. It's still secure, but if you want to remove it, open the Keychain Access application and search for MacJournal and remove all the items you find. If that does not work, please email me and we can look at other causes.
Thanks again.
Hi Dan,
is there a way to hide sub-journals in the Entry side view and only show entries? Please let me know, thanks Dan!
Not right now, but this will probably be the case in the future.
A quick note to say that you were absolutely right about the Keychain being the reason the locked folders opened for me. It functions perfectly. Thanks so much!
Cheers,
Alice
Thanks!
Hi, I have just brought 5.2.3 from Mariner website. Are your beta updates available to me please and advice to install. When I download it says I have two applications running.
Regards
Brett
Yes, 5.2.4 will be a free upgrade for users of 5.2.3, so you can use the betas for free. If you want to install it, you have to quit 5.2.3 first. Then you open this beta safely.
