MacJournal 5.1.4b2
Get it here.
This beta fixes a few rare crashers and some weird window resizing behavior, among other things. It is hopefully the last beta and the final will be out sometime in the next few weeks. Let me know of any problems with it.

Smart folders don't seem to be working right for me, not seeing consistently when an entry is flagged or tagged -- especially if I move the smart folder from one place to another.
Had the same issue with 5.1.3.
On a Macbook Pro running 10.5.7.

Smart journals are scoped by the journal they are in; does this explain it?

Ah, my bad. That's it. I didn't realize they couldn't reach outside of their own journal.
Thanks for the lightning quick response, Dan. I've been using MJ for many years. It's great.

Hi Dan,
Re: the CSV import fix - did fix the import of the specific example I sent you, but when I ran b2 on the ~400 record CSV that contained that example, it imported nothing at all, with no debug info I could find :( This is better than importing corrupted data, but the lack of more specific feedback is unfortunate. I would also be concerned that the export also may not be correct, since I copied the CSV format exactly from an MJ5 export of a test journal; my dataset has very large text section for many records, and if you are assuming a maximum data size there, this might be causing an issue.
I've resigned myself to transferring my data via cut and paste, but if you could maybe publish the layout of the internal MJ data file, people could write their own translators - it's not going to be possible for you to have a method for every possible wacky source of data.

Dan, I'd like to, but it does contain personal data and it would be difficult for me to scrub it. I know that's not a great answer :(

Every time I try to update it does NOT import my previous journals. What am I doing wrong?????
I also keep getting the message that I have 10 days.... I paid for this shouldn't I have the option to update or not?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From where are you trying to import?
This is only a beta, pre-release version and will expire as new ones come out (as is mentioned in the alert you are seeing). This has no bearing on whether or not you have paid for it.

I am not trying to import my journals. Usually when I update a program it sees the old files created with the previous version. This is the third time I have installed an updated version of MacJournal and the update doesn't take me to my old journal files.

Please email me and let me know from what versions you were updating and more about what is happening. I think this will be easier to work out directly.
